Can a short piece of real footage feel alive if the visitor, not the timeline, decides what happens next?

A lizard in flying goggles and a knitted scarf.
- What we tested
- Each character is one filmed left-to-right turn, cut into stills. Your cursor picks the moment; the two nearest stills are blended on a spring, so the turn follows you smoothly and settles on a single sharp frame when you stop.
- What we learned
- People move the mouse just to be looked at. A turn that follows the pointer reads as attention, which makes a holding page feel like a welcome rather than a wait.
- Where it could be used
- Coming-soon and launch pages, brand mascots, product turntables and interactive campaign heroes.
- Credits
- Studio experiment. Characters generated and filmed for Mancer Studios’ coming-soon page.
